Estopa is a popflamenco duo founded in 1999 by brothers José and David Muñoz of Cornellà de Llobregat Baix Llobregat, Catalonia. Their first album, Estopa, has sold well over 1,000,000 copies to date the equivalent of an American platinum album and their latest, Voces de Ultrarumba, sold more than 200,000 copies on its first day of release. Estopa followed Estopa with their next album Destrangis in 2001, which sold 250,000 copies in its first two weeks. The album was welcomed by fans and led to a tour of Latin America. The Muñoz brothers later released a second Destrangis album including three live bonus tracks. That was entitled Más Destrangis. After two years, their fourth album, La Calle es Tuya was released in 2004. Though less successful than the Spanish duo's 1999 eponymous album debut, Estopa's second album, Destrangis 2001, was nonetheless a huge hit for the Latin rock band from Cornellà, Spain, whose style draws from rhumba as well as flamenco traditions. Highlights of the 13-track album include the singles Partiendo la Pana and Vino Tinto. Destrangis In the Night, 03:27. Jardin del Olvido, 03:43. El Blade, 03:12. Released October 11, 2001.
