Halfaxa, Grimes' 2nd album. Enjoy 0:00 Outer 1:12 IntorFlowers 4:03 Weregild 9:21 Rasik 11:12 Heartbeats 15:48 Sagrad Прекрасный 21:04 is the second studio album by Canadian recording artist Grimes. It was released in Canada on October 5, 2010, by Arbutus Records, and re released in the United Kingdom and mainland Europe in May 2011 by Lo Recordings. The album itself is a cathartic exploration of a space or tone that Grimes has created with influences from medieval music, dark wave, opera, witch house and whale noises. Grimes has grown from her 2010s debut Geidi Primes with something more bass heavy, dreamy and psychedelic. Ólafur Dofri Guðvarðarson A life changing masterpiece - her best by far, and one of the most beautiful records ever recorded. Now that she's finally free from 4AD, let's hope she can get back to this kind of sound. This album proves you don't need a professional studio to create something wonderful like this. The musician Claire Elise Boucher, better known as Grimes, was born on 17 March 1988 in Vancouver, Canada and is based in Los Angeles. Her music is an eclectic mix of styles which she described herself as ADD music, because it shifts frequently and dramatically. Halfaxa is the second studio album by electronic music artist Grimes. Halfaxa has been described as a goth-pop and witch house release. Grimes has said Halfaxa was created to evoke the feeling of believing in God in a very Medieval Christian way, and has described it as her medieval album. All tracks are written by Claire Boucher. Grimes - Rasik. Grimes - Sagrad Прекрасный. Grimes - Dragvandil. Grimes - Devon. Grimes - Dream Fortress. Halfaxa is Grimes at her most mystical. Boucher has referred to it as her medieval album in terms of intent and subject matter. She once explained that the record is meant to be an electronic interpretation of Middle Age Christian reverence, an exploration of sensations beyond earthly experience: I wanted to capture the beauty of being in a beautiful cathedral and hearing reverbed naturally, devotional, vocal music and really believing in heaven and hell. Offering a deeper sense of Grimes' world, Halfaxa's song titles reference Boucher's diverse intellectual interests. Genre: Dream Pop. Halfaxa is unmemorable and uninteresting, only sparking the deep recesses of the mind with its minimal production style and very subdued and lo-fi mood. These seem to be unfinished ideas that drag on for too long, even though the sounds are at least tolerable at points.
