The sessions that produced the tracks for the first subtractiveLAD album occurred in 2003-2004, over a decade before the most recent subtractiveLAD release. Those early sessions produced a large amount of material as Hummel experimented with the musical style that would eventually evolve into the first few subtractiveLAD albums. Curated personally by Hummel, the 10 previously unreleased tracks were selected from over 20 tracks from the time period. Features Song Lyrics for subtractiveLAD's First Steps album. Stephen Hummel is a Vancouver-based electronic musician who has been evolving as a performer for over seven years. Hummel began performing in the jazz-improv world but, before long, his emerging fondness for analogue synthesizers shifted his focus to an entirely electronic sound. The music of subtractiveLAD can be described as melodic, fluid and deeply emotional, full of warm analogue ambience, punctuated with processed crunchy experimental electronica style rhythms. The subtractiveLAD sound hints back to 70s-era Eno and Tangerine Dream, but infused with a contemporary laptop aesthetic. 사이트 . Released: Apr 2016
