Machine Gun Etiquette is the third studio album by English punk rock band the Damned. It was released on 2 November 1979 by Chiswick Records. The album was the group's first since reforming with a new lineup of Dave Vanian on vocals, Captain Sensible on lead guitar, Rat Scabies on drums and Algy Ward on bass guitar. On Machine Gun Etiquette, the band brought more variety to their usual punk rock to add wide-ranging pop rock. The Damned Machine Gun Etiquette Track Listing: 1. Love Song 2. Machine Gun Etiquette 3. It was the bands first album on Chiswick Records, following their reformation after splitting up briefly in 1978. By this point in The Damneds history, the line-up had changed from their first two albums, Damned Damned Damned and Music for Pleasure 1977. Brian James left the group, and was replaced on guitar by Captain Sensible, and Algy Ward of The Saints took Sensibles place on bass. Sensible also played keyboard on the album. Stylistically, Machine Gun Ettiquette signalled a change in direction from their previous. Machine Gun Etiquette is the third album by seminal punk-rock group, The Damned, and the first one without guitarist Brian James. As their first album helped to establish the still vague punk generation, Machine Gun Etiquette helped to define the post-punk genre. It's multi-layered songs incorporate ideas from a variety of musical styles and then place them over simple and complex deliveries. Much wider in it's perspective than The Damned's first two releases, this album marks a pivotal moment in the evolution of underground music. Track Listings. Disc: 1. Love Song. Anybody have the matrices for this 2009 UK reissue? What about reviews for this remastering by Andy Pilsworthy --- anyone??? Apparently a DMM cut. From original tapes? All analogue or digital? Better sounding than the Drastic Plastic reissues from 2014 (and QRP plant re-pressings later this month 2016)? Speak up!
