The Frederic Remington House is a historic house at 36 Oak Knoll Road in Ridgefield, Connecticut. A National Historic Landmark, it was the home of the painter and sculptor Frederic Remington 1861-1909 in the last few months of his life. Remington and his wife designed the two-story gambrel-roofed, fieldstone-and-shingle house. He produced some of his finest work in the house including the sculpture The Stampede and the painting The Love Call. The house was declared a National Historic Landmark. American Music is the debut album by American rock and roll band The Blasters, released in 1980. The song Marie Marie became a breakthrough hit for Shakin' Stevens in 1980 from This Ole House. Matchbox recorded the song for their 1980 album Midnite Dynamos. In 1997, the album was released on CD by Hightone Records. The tracks Marie Marie and American Music were rerecorded for The Blasters' second and wider-distributed eponymous album. All songs composed by Dave Alvin, except where noted. Remington is the major-label debut album from American country music artist Granger Smith. It was released on March 4, 2016 via Wheelhouse Records. Its lead single, Backroad Song, was released independently to radio on March 24, 2015. It was then re-released to radio on October 5, 2015 after Smith's signing with the label. The album's second single, If the Boot Fits, was released to country radio on March 14, 2016. Listen to music from The Remington like Shame On You, A Night in the City & more. Scores of armed black protesters marched through Stone Mountain Park in Georgia, calling for the removal of an infamous Confederate monument and warning redneck militias that were in your house. For country music lovers, this album introduces another great and moving singer. Steve Earle called Copperhead Road, his third album and first aimed squarely at the rock audience, heavy-metal bluegrass. It more than lives up to that description, hitting a just-right synthesis of acoustic strumming and electric-guitar power chords not to mention the occasional bagpipe. That this record peaks with The House That Built Me - possibly our young century's single best country song to date - is only the icing on a cake catapulted directly into your face.
