The RCA Victor Symphony Orchestra was a New York City pick-up orchestra drawn from members of the NBC Symphony Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. Sometimes known as RCA Symphony Orchestra, it was founded in 1940 in the USA Camden, NJ. It began as a salon ensemble created by Nathaniel Shilkret, who was music director of Victor Talking Machine Company between 1916 and 1935. It used players from Leopold Stokowski's orchestra on an ad hoc basis as late as 1940
