A stunning ep from the little known Aquatec label. BIC are Manmademan and Tristan and this track is ok, albeit nothing special. Zen Arcade is a one-off between John Petit of Green Oms and A. Nelson, and their track owns. Starting off with a moody moog and clattery tribal drums, it morphs into a breakbeat monster with stinging acid, haunting 303 arpeggios and big flatulent bass ala drum n bass. Elastic Ice is a highly emotion-inducing track, moving from the dark and moody to the frenzied and finally achieving a kind of exhausted exhilaration. Zen Arcade - Elastic Ice. Zen Arcade is the second studio album by American punk rock band Hüsker Dü, released in July 1984 on SST Records. Originally released as a double album on two vinyl LPs, Zen Arcade tells the story of a young boy who runs away from an unfulfilling home life, only to find the world outside is even worse. Zen Arcade and subsequent Hüsker Dü albums were instrumental in the creation of the alternative rock genre the band would later abandon its hardcore punk style entirely in favor of a style of melodic. Zen Arcade is probably the closest hardcore will ever get to an opera.
